Neck Pain
SUCCESS!!
I came to Dr. Schnelle because of a stiff neck, knee pain, and a tight upper back. I had dealt with these issues for 10 + years. I had undergone knee surgery and multiple massages to help with my symptoms.
I was always treated great by the staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center. The appointment times are always convenient and the doctor is friendly.
Since started treatment my neck is less stiff and I have fewer days with knee pain. I would recommend Dr. Schnelle to others for care.

I came in with neck pain after sustaining a rugby injury. I had been dealing with the pain for 3 weeks before seeking care. I received chiropractic care and the occasional massage.
I was treated very well by the staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center and I liked that there was a clear goal with treatment the whole time. My condition has improved significantly and I have a better understanding of what’s going on. Dr. Schnelle is thorough and great to work with.

I came in for care because my neck was very stiff, especially on the left side. In addition, I couldn’t take a deep breath without tightness in my middle back. I had suffered with these conditions for one and a half years. Before coming in for care I had not sought any other types of treatments previously for my symptoms, I just put up with them.
The staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center is friendly, welcoming, respectful and they truly care about people. Dr. Schnelle is very knowledgeable and helpful. My condition is much improved since starting treatment and I would and have recommended Dr. Schnelle to others for care.

I first came to Dr. Schnelle because I always felt the urge to crack my neck and it would hurt if I didn’t. Also, I had tingling a lot in my neck and shoulders. I had been dealing with these symptoms for one year.
The staff treated me excellently. They were always friendly/listening and genuinely trying to help. Dr. Schnelle was always on top of my care and always knowledgeable about me specifically. I also had treatment to do at home such as icing, stretching and traction.
My results have been great! I have so much less tingling, I don’t have the urge to crack my neck anymore and my neck feels healthy again.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Schnelle, he wants you to get better, and knows how to do it.

When I first came to Choice Chiropractic and Wellness Center I was suffering from severe neck and back pain, which had been going on for a long time. I had tried soft tissue massage and over the counter pain killers; the massage helped some.
I feel a massive improvement from my long-term ailments. My day to day life is better and I feel great. I would recommend Choice Chiropractic and Wellness Center to others for care. Dr Schnelle is friendly, fast and effective and he provides a good personal element.

The conditions I was experiencing when I first saw Dr. Schnelle were back pain, numbness in the shoulder blade, neck pain and headaches. I had been suffering for about a year with these symptoms and they were getting worse. Previous treatments recommended to me were stretching and Ibuprofen, which only helped temporarily.
I was treated very well by the staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness. My good results are what I liked most about my care. The least was that sometimes it was hard always remembering to do the prescribed homework.
Overall, I have received great relief of my pain and symptoms. Dr. Schnelle really cares about the wellness of his patients and improving their condition.

I had been dealing with neck pain and neck/upper back stiffness for over 10 years when I first came to Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center. Previously I had never sought care of any kind; I would just put up with the pain and suffer quietly. It finally got to the point that I was tired of dealing with it and was concerned how it would affect me in the future if it continued to get worse.
My results since starting my care at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center have been excellent! I am very happy with the progress being made on my neck and upper back. I have received great pain relief and suffer from less overall stiffness.
I always am treated excellent by the staff and Dr. Schnelle is a great doctor. I would and have recommended this office to others for chiropractic care.

When I first saw Dr. Schnelle my symptoms were neck and lower back pain. I would sometimes also have pain in the rib cage. I suffered with these issues for three years. I had undergone physical therapy and was prescribed muscle relaxers for my condition, but they only provided temporary relief.
I have always been treated very well by the doctor and staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center. The thing I like most about my care is the caring nature of the staff and the real concern they have for my well-being. I can’t think of anything that I do not like about my care.
My results since starting my care with Dr. Schnelle have been good. My neck pain is managed well and pretty much gone. My lower back pain is still an issue due to the chronic nature of my scoliosis, but my good days far outnumber my bad days. I would and do recommend Dr. Schnelle 100% to others for chiropractic care.

When I first started working for Dr. Schnelle in July of 2009 I experienced upper back pain on my right side and the muscles in my shoulders were always tight. I also had lower back pain from time to time. I didn’t think about it as a problem at the time. I referred to the pain as “carrying stress in my shoulders” and would take Ibuprofen if the pain was too much. Wasn’t until my Exam when I realized what was causing my pain. My upper back pain and shoulder pain was going on for about 5 years and my lower back pain started 6 months before seeing Dr. Schnelle.
Dr. Schnelle cares about my health as much as all his other patients. He goes over every aspect of my progress and what I can do to help my progress. I LOVE the adjustments and also enjoy traction when I feel that good stretch. There is nothing about my treatment that I don’t like. I like the fact that I am taking the correct steps to a healthier and happier life.
My results have been amazing. 90 Days into my treatment I was pain free for the first time in years. Its nice knowing that dealing with the pain is no longer an option. I still have some stiffness in my shoulders on occasions but Dr. Schnelle taught me a stretch that really helps loosen the tight muscles.
I would recommend Dr. Schnelle to anyone in pain or who has been trying to get answers to their health problems but are still left in the dark. Chiropractic is more then what people think it is and spreading the word of what chiropractic can do will help other people. I’m not just saying this because he is my employer but because I truly believe in what we do here and in the people we help and can help.

I had radiating neck pain that led to frequent headaches and eyelid twitching. I also had constant tightness in my middle back. I have suffered from these symptoms for as long as I can remember. Previously I had seen other chiropractors on a limited basis. I would take Advil for the pain. Otherwise I just suffered with it.
What I like most about my care is the relief of my symptoms. I also like that my treatment plan was explained thoroughly to me and my progress is verified with x-rays. I would say my symptoms have improved by at least 90%. I no longer suffer from headaches or eyelid twitching. I no longer have an urge to crack my neck to relieve the stress temporarily.
What has been most noticeable for me is not being aware of the constant tension and discomfort in my neck and spine. You have to be willing to make a commitment to the process, which can be time consuming, but like most things in life you get what you put into it.
The staff at Choice Chiropractic is excellent. They are friendly, professional, and accommodating. I would and do highly recommend Dr. Schnelle. I have seen other chiropractors in the past, but none are as dedicated to their patient’s health and well being as Dr. Schnelle. He honestly cares about your progress and he won’t give up until its right. His entire organization is top notch.

I had an accident when I was younger [I fell off of a horse] that
most likely caused my body to gradually become stiff, painful, and I had
no range of motion. I was a very active person my whole life and it
probably caught up with me when I finally slowed down for once! I
probably suffered longer than I would ever think because I got so used
to feeling stiff and having pain. I thought my range of motion was
normal, but I soon learned otherwise.
I started seeing Dr. Schnelle almost five years ago!
And… let me tell you, it has made a world of difference. He has enabled
me to learn so much about my own body! Every single person at Choice
Chiropractic has been a complete joy. From when it was just Dr.
Schnelle to now, every single visit has been pleasant! I cannot express
how much Dr. Schnelle cares! He truly cares about every patient and
their needs. If you do not fully understand something he will take the
time to make sure that you do! The thing I liked least about my care was
“traction”, but really, the real answer is absolutely nothing at all!
Everything is made as comfortable as possible.
I have had many positive results with Choice
Chiropractic & Wellness Center. The overall package is the best
result! I never moved. I was suffering from chronic stiffness and
pain, but now I know what it is like to be pain free! Would I recommend
Dr. Schnelle’s care to others? 110% yes! I cannot say enough positive
things about Dr. Schnelle and his services! Over the years, things may
have changed. The practice moved a few times, assistants changed, but
one that never ever changed: Dr. Schnelle’s consistent care!

July 2009
I first saw Dr. Schnelle in November 2008 for stiffness in the neck and shoulders. I was also dealing with neck pain and radiating numbness into my left hand, ring finger, and pinkie due to a known blockage in the ulnar nerve that was diagnosed in early 2007. In addition, I had continual “popping” of the neck when rotating my head.
I had suffered for over 10 years with off and on pain. More recently it was getting worse over the last 4 years during a demanding project schedule that required extended hours at the computer for work.
I had sought care in the past, which included chiropractic and massage. In 2004 I had 3 months of neck adjustments. I ceased the sessions per the doctor’s suggestion due to the muscle tightness. I started massage therapy treatments in 2007 when the finger numbness became a problem.
I was treated like a family member by the staff at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center! They are very courteous and interested in my progress.
What I liked most about my care was the convenience of setting noon hour appointments to accommodate my work schedule. Also, the ice, heat, muscle stimulation treatments allowed me to relax. Improvements were noticed early on during my treatments and whole spine adjustments were included—BONUS!
The hardest part about my care was the commitment of time—going on 7 months and seeing an out of network provider which resulted in out of pocket costs, but worth it!
My results have created an increased awareness of the importance of daily stretching and how ice packs can be your best option. I no longer have pain or numbness and my stiffness is reduced. I also have improved range of motion in head movements.
Compared to the other chiropractic care I’ve had, Dr. Schnelle took a sincere approach in my neck problems. The exercises, use of posture pump, sleep patterns and job situation allowed me to see the improvements and make stretching a priority. It has been a very enjoyable experience!

When I first started working for Dr. Schnelle, I was unaware of the benefits of chiropractic care. I had struggled with upper back and neck pain throughout college, which resulted in me not being able to sleep well at times and constantly “deal with” aching pain.
I had not seen any doctors for this condition prior to working for Dr. Schnelle, and rarely would I bring myself to taking pain medications.
Dr. Schnelle, as a supervisor, as well as fellow colleague, treated me with the upmost respect while I worked with him and for him within his practice. I was very satisfied with my time spent at Choice Chiropractic and Wellness Center.
The thing I liked the most about my care was that I gradually began to notice that I was sleeping much better, and waking up more relaxed and ready for the day. It was also nice to be able to get care on the days that I worked in office.
There was nothing that I didn’t enjoy about my care.
As a result of my care over only three months, I have noticed an improvement in my posture and every-day comfort. I used to expect to be sore from stress at the end of the day; now I don’t notice myself being nearly as exhausted and irritable.
I would recommend Dr. Schnelle to anyone who is committed to their health and both mental and physical well-being. He truly enjoys his patients, and strives to make a positive change in each of their lives.

March 2009
I met Dr. Schnelle at my company’s wellness fair, and I’m very glad he was there. Previously, I had never been to see a chiropractor nor had I even thought I had any major issues. This was because I honestly believed that back pain / neck pain was something everyone just “dealt with” as a part of aging. It took meeting Dr. Schnelle to educate me about the fact that pain is the body’s way of telling you something is probably not right, and that you don’t HAVE to live with pain!
For over 2 years I suffered shooting pain in my right neck/shoulder area when I went jogging. Sometimes it was so bad that it radiated down my arm and forced me to stop. Also, my left heel/ankle area would throb after running and become stiff later. I also had pain in my back, which was especially bad upon wakening. Again, I just thought there was little to nothing I could do about these things.
After Dr. Schnelle evaluated me, it was very clear that the curvature of my neck was not where it should be, thus creating a painful situation. Also, my hips were not in alignment, causing the pain in my left leg and heel. And, my foot arches are collapsed, which I didn’t know, so now I am getting orthotics to help me avoid further heel and foot pain.
The best part about Dr. Schnelle’s care is that he focuses on education, through which he wants all of his patients to achieve total wellness and understand causes of pain, not just remedies. He sought the best understanding of any pain / symptom I experienced so that he could get to the root cause. It is rare to find health practioners who care that deeply about your whole person! He is very thorough and comprehensive, and has a professional yet fun demeanor – as does his staff. I actually have a blast while receiving care! I drive all the way up from Denver, and even though there is a chiropractic office right behind my house, and many, many others within a 5 mile radius, I go to Dr. Schnelle. He is THAT good. While I haven’t been to other chiropractors myself, I have heard about them through friends and family and know that Dr. Schnelle is tops.
In under three months, my neck mobility has improved dramatically, and I haven’t had any shooting pain at all! My heel pain has also been reduced from severe (limping in the mornings) to barely noticeable, only on rare occasion. My back pain is gone because I have been educated on proper sleep posture and stretching techniques. I have even started running again, and the old pains have not showed up. Of course, I had to be committed to my own wellness to get these results, but without Dr. Schnelle’s expertise, I would not have been nearly so successful!
Dr. Schnelle and his staff are exemplary health care practitioners, and I would recommend them to everyone who prioritizes their health and seeks dedicated, personal, and effective care!

February 2009
I would like to tell you about a tremendous success.
I am 31 years old and have had problems with my back and neck for over 12 years now. I don’t know if my problems came from my love of snowboarding, several car accidents, or my tendency to lead with my head back when I played ball, but regardless of the source, I have definitely taken some licks.
Over the years, the damage sustained has taken its toll. I spent several years self medicating with aspirin, ibuprofen, and any other pain reliever I could find. Eventually, the rapidly decreasing range of motion in my neck, and the constant back pain and headaches, drove me to find professional relief.
Multiple doctors told me that there was nothing technically wrong with my neck and spine. Many x-rays, examined by medical doctors, gave no clue. I finally saw a chiropractor for the first time in 2001, and for a couple of days at least, I felt much better. In fact, I felt so much better that I didn’t see another chiropractor for several months. Finally, I went back and, once again, felt great… for a while. This cycle continued until mid 2008 when, in constant pain and unable to concentrate despite a couple thousand milligrams of ibuprofen each day, I called Dr. Schnelle’s office in desperate need for some kind of relief.
My first impression of Dr. Schnelle was one of incredulity. He had me come in for an initial exam, and over the course of this procedure, he performed several sensory tests, none of which I had ever seen before. Frankly, I was only expecting to be adjusted, and then sent on my way, as I had been so many times prior. So, I was quite surprised by the extent of the examination. I would soon learn that the reason behind all of this was to determine exactly what was going on, and as a result, exactly how to fix it. He was right.
Over the months since, I have had the opportunity to experience traction, directed stretching exercises, electronic stimulation, and consistent adjustments and realignments. While I was hesitant at first, as this was very different from anything that I have ever experienced, it turned out to be worth it because the results were all so new and exciting. I have no pain in my back or neck, and I can look BOTH directions without turning my whole body. I haven’t had a headache since the second week of treatment!
Now that I am pain free and able to move in ways that I haven’t been able to in years, I can once again take an active part in life. I am no longer forced to rely on over the counter drugs to simply exist, and I am happier than I have been for a long time.
Dr. Schnelle is the most competent and caring physician that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. His treatment plan has been a complete success and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dear Dr. Schnelle,
I just wanted to take a few moments to thank you for taking such good care of my lower back and the left side of my neck. Additionally, I want to thank you for making my referral of my friend, Kathy L., work out so well for her. I have been particularly pleased at observing the progress that Kathy has made, given that she just tried to “soldier on” through her back and neck pain for so many years.
You might recall that I have been a proponent of chiropractic techniques for the care of the spine for almost 30 years. As I moved around the country over those years, I sought out chiropractic care with quite a few practitioners. Given that I spent a good bit of that time in the Mid-West, many of the chiropractors that I saw were Palmer graduates. A couple of them were from the Carolina Life Program, and a few were trained in Los Angeles. In fact, while I was a professor in Dublin, Ireland, I found a chiropractor who was a transplanted U.S. citizen from Palmer. Then in Auckland, New Zealand, my Kiwi chiropractor turned out to have been a graduate of the Life Program.
The care that you have provided me certainly has met the high quality level that I have the privilege- based on all this experience- to call “world class”!

I sought Dr. Schnelle’s help because I was getting frequent headaches and having neck pain when I turned my head. I had been dealing with these problems off and on for 6 years when I finally decided enough was enough. I was referred to Dr. Schnelle by a friend of mine who thought that he may be able to help me like he had helped her. I had seen a chiropractor a few years earlier which helped but did not produce any lasting results.
I have always been treated very well by Dr. Schnelle and his staff and my results have been great. I no longer get headaches, my neck pain is gone and I have improved range of motion. I would definitely recommend Dr. Schnelle to others. If you don’t mind committing time to your health he is great. His priority and specialty is getting you results that last.

October 2008
I was suffering from persistent neck and upper back pain; knots in shoulders and stiffness in the neck; and lower back pain and stiffness. The neck and upper back symptoms was a gradual condition over at least the past 10 years which I attributed to age and osteoporosis. I never received any treatment for my conditions before; I just lived with and tolerated the pain.
The staff has always been pleasant, attentive and concerned for me as a patient. What I have liked most about my care has been Dr. Schnelle’s willingness to answer all of my questions, not only concerning chiropractic care but also other health issues. The corrective traction was not the most comfortable but very bearable especially knowing it was making a difference.
My upper back and neck are practically pain free. I have mobility in my neck again. My posture has changed for the better. I’m standing straighter; the difference from when I first came in is night and day. I would highly recommend Dr. Schnelle. His care is gentle and specifically designed for each patient and he seems genuinely concerned for his patients’ health.

August 2008
I am writing this letter to share my experiences with chiropractic under the care of Dr. Schnelle at Choice Chiropractic & Wellness Center. When I first started my treatments I was experiencing continuous pain in my lower back, shoulders and neck. It is not clear in my case, what exactly brought on the problems. It could have been one of several things (or a combination). Throughout my life I have been involved in sports, been in a few fender-benders, etc. At this point, I had just earned my Ph.D. and was a physical train wreck from working on my dissertation 24/7 earlier that year. I typically enjoy running, hiking and kickboxing. By the time I decided to see a chiropractor about my pain, I was unable to do any of these things without considerable pain and frustration.
Right away, I was sent to get x-rays of my neck and back. I was so surprised when, after looking at these pictures, Dr. Schnelle said, “I know why you’ve got pain.” I thought, “holy cow, a doctor actually believes me when I say my back hurts!’ Previous visits to other doctors had left me believing that I simply had to live with the pain. The x-rays revealed that I had a significant reverse curve in my neck, a slight torsion in my back and my hips were offset (among other offsets). We got started with adjustments and heat therapy right away to start getting my joints and muscles used to the idea of moving to where they are supposed to be. After a few weeks we started traction in order to convince my neck bones and muscles to adjust to the natural curve. In late January I had my first day with no pain, and boy, was that a relief! In February, we found that the reverse curve in my neck had really improved.
Recently, I was walking up to a restaurant to meet a friend and her husband for dinner. They had not seen me in several months. My friend usually runs up to me to give me a hug, but she didn’t budge until I was right in front of her. Apparently, she didn’t recognize me because my walking gait was so different. (my hips are level now).
Before becoming a patient of Dr. Schnelle I had visited a couple other chiropractors for “quick fix” adjustments; but these doctors did not take the time to listen to my concerns, look at x-rays to determine the problem, and set up a long-term care plan with me in order to get me well. A few times these doctors were so rough that the day after my adjustment I actually had symptoms as though I were catching a cold (i.e. run down feeling, sore throat, achy, etc.). These symptoms have never happened to me while under the care of Dr. Schnelle. I assure you that there are several ways to move a joint to proper location, and none of them involve the doctor taking a running leap at you from across the room!
I want to stress to newcomers to chiropractic that the adjustments and treatments are not the only things that are going to aid in the healing process. I have found that I really need to keep up with the suggested exercises stretches and icing routines set out for me by Dr. Schnelle. If I follow the plan to the letter, I improve quickly. If I slack, I can tell that my adjustments aren’t going as well this process has been commitment, both financially and mentally. But, going at it with this commitment has been well worth the time, effort and few less fancy coffees in the afternoon.
I hope that by sharing my story I can help folks who are considering this sort of treatment for themselves. It is working for me, and I am very happy that I decided to do it. I am now slowly and carefully starting up anew with my running and kickboxing. I am looking forward to my hikes this summer!

May 2008
In January of 2008 I came to your office after experiencing 15 months of excruciating pain in my neck and shoulders as well as a disruption in my hearing. I was diagnosed with whiplash and curvature of my neck in August 2006 by a spine specialist who recommended rehabilitation. I decided to do my rehabilitation with a local Chiropractor and to my dismay I was very afraid to go back after 4 appointments. I decided to live with my pain due to the fear of treatment and being hurt until my mom advised me I probably just had a bad experience and needed to try treatment with another chiropractor. I was very skeptical but decided I couldn’t endure the pain and hearing loss anymore so I set up my appointment with you. I have only been in treatment for 10 weeks and I feel like a new person. I experience no pain and my hearing has returned to normal, I am excited to see what my follow-up x-ray will show in a couple weeks. Thanks so much for all you have done, you have returned me to my normal active life.

March 2008
In early 2007, I made an appointment with Dr. Schnelle, not knowing if a chiropractor was the appropriate professional for my issues. My shoulders and upper back were constantly sore and stiff and I couldn’t ignore it because the stiffness was affecting my labor-intensive farm job. I considered trying therapeutic massage, but I was curious about doing a consultation with a chiropractor, to talk about a more permanent solution. I had Dr. Schnelle’s business card because I’d met him through a friend a while back. I gave him a call and he set me up with a consultation and exam, and subsequent x-rays, which showed subluxations (misalignments) in my back and neck and a reverse curve in my neck as well. I wasn’t sure how my misalignments had occurred-maybe snowboarding, maybe sleeping on my stomach, maybe a car accident in 2003 that I considered minor- but I felt compelled to fix these problems before they got worse.
Despite a lack of funds I signed up for a six month plan with Dr. Schnelle and I noticed an improvement, even after the first adjustment. After each adjustment and sets of at home exercises, I felt my shoulders and back gradually feeling less stiff and sore. After about eight appointments (3 weeks), there were times when the stiffness didn’t affect my job and times when I didn’t notice any stiffness. When I fill out my progress card at each appointment, I report improvements. “Minimal” stiffness doesn’t mean much anymore, because the stiffness was minimal when I was first coming in. I almost need to start making new categories for how minimal the stiffness has become. In addition, my first re-exam showed an objective positive evaluation of my progress.

I've been a patient for about a year now and I'm very grateful for
the relief you've brought me. I have arthritis in my neck and had lost
about 60% of my range of motion. Every day I was in pain and I had
started to accept it as a fact of life. But after working with Dr.
Schnelle on a regimen of traction, to restore the curve in my neck and
consistent stretching, there now are quite a few days that I'm pain
free! Thanks for caring and really wanting to improve my life!
